2018 Goals

1. Train hard

- Train 6 days a week.

- Get 8 hours of sleep per night.

2. Be happy

- Patience with the 1st goal and its applications.

3. Become my best

- I still have untapped potential. It's time to find it.

Bonus Goal

4. Win the 2018 Transplant Games 5k in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 4th.

- A sub 18-minute 5k is most likely needed to accomplish this goal.

Personal:

My Mom donated half of her Liver to me when I was 6 months old. I have now taken care of it for 20 years. I hope to do so for years to come.

I served an LDS mission in Fort Worth, Texas speaking Spanish 15'-17'. I am a Healthcare Administration Major at BYU-Idaho.

Alta Hawk XC & Track Alumni 2015. Yes, 'The Rob Murphy' was my coach, and yes, he is a legend.

I watched he Teton Dam Marathon and cheered on a couple friends in the half. I decided to sit this one out. I will be running the Temple to Temple relay on the 17th though!

I ran the neighborhood loop then around campus. About 5 miles I’m 40 minutes. It felt pretty good i am going to continue goin for longer.

AM: I ran up past the Rexburg Temple to the water tower which equaled 3.2 if I decide to turn around but instead I kept going and ended up on some county road. It was good run!

I took these two pictures on my run on the first you can see the Tetons in the background  The second is higher quality photo! Ok, I would post them but I can’t figure out how.

Had a nice run through the neighborhoods just west of campus. Ran past the airport and saw a couple planes landing so that was cool! Towards the end of my run the girl I’ve been tying to date drove by rolled down the window and said hi. Of course it’s her birthday today and I happened to run past a garden and stole a nice looking daisy. I ran to her apartment and gave it to her. I guess I found a nice perk of being a runner. 😂

I ran on a relay team in the Temple2Temple relay. It was a 37 mile relay race from the Rexburg Idaho LDS Temple to the LDS Temple in Idaho Falls. I ran the longest leg it was about 7.3 miles. I ran it in 57:30. There was some decent long but gradual uphills so it was a bit tough. My team wasn’t that fast, I think we took last, but it was fun anyway.

A nice recovery from Saturday. I’m still a bit tight from stretching myself. I ended with 4 striders and 30 push-ups.

Neighborhood loop + around campus. I ran it in 38 minutes so I’m not sure if it’s an accurate 5miles. I ended with 4striders.

Woke up a bit late so I got in what I could. I ran for 20 minutes. The first half was uphill into the wind and the latter was downhill with the wind to my back. I’ve learned that a good day here in Rexburg no matter the temperature is a day without any wind.

I ran 2.5 around campus at a bit of a faster pace than usual. I timed myself at 17:40. I believe it was about a 23 minute 5k pace.

I’m honestly struggling to train to get faster by myself. I haven’t been able to find a running partner and I kinda just go out and run. I need to figure it out quick for the Transplant Games in Salt Lake on August 4th. I have 7 weeks to train.
